Australian Award winners announced

The Australian winners of the Recruitment & Consulting Services Association (RCSA) Industry Awards were announced at the RCSA Winter Ball & Industry Awards Night held in Sydney last week. Set against the backdrop of a glamorous winter wonderland, the evening attracted in excess of 300 of recruitment’s elite and up and coming professionals. A contingent of RCSA’s proud Life Members were also in attendance, including Greg Savage, Graham Jenkins, Helen Olivier and Peter Gleeson. Guests were entertained by comedian Lawrence Mooney who served as MC, while stand- out entertainers The Groove Academy had party-goers dancing into the evening. A winter - themed photobooth also captured many memorable moments. RCSA CEO Charles Cameron made an impassioned speech at the commencement of the evening which highlighted his pride to those in attendance. "Standing for something that counts and caring for the way it impacts on a human being makes a massive difference - way beyond a pay cheque,” he said. “That’s why the people in this room make a difference. I absolutely believe in everything you do because you can change lives. I’m proud of you." RCSA President, Robert van Stokrom FRCSA recognised the finalists and record number of entrants during his welcome speech. "The list of people who applied for these awards is very impressive. It's a time to celebrate our achievements," he said. CEO of Kinetic Super Katherine Kaspar (RCSA’s Principal Partner) echoed Robert’s sentiment. “RCSA members bring passion to this industry,” she said. “It’s my honour to celebrate the achievements of the industry."

SEEK PROFESSIONAL RECRUITER OF THE YEAR

RCSA INSURANCE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AWARD

The evening also bestowed RCSA Life Membership upon Jacqui Barratt FRCSA (Life). RCSA Life Membership recognises outstanding service to the industry and a commitment to promoting the objectives and purpose of the Association. Jacqui has served over 10 years on the RCSA Board of Directors, including three as Vice -President. In an emotional speech, Jacqui reminded guests what recruitment is all about. "If we forget that people have a beating heart, she said, we've lost what recruiting is about. It’s a privilege to do what we do.”

In a memorable moment from the evening, one lucky guest won a trip to attend the RCSA Conference in Fiji in September. John Corrigan from finalist iknowho was the winner of the best social media post for the evening with a team pose at the RCSA letters on the dance floor. [UPDATE] IKnowho are running an internal staff competition to give away this prize to one of their team members - what a great idea! We can't wait to see who wins it!
