Specialised recruitment in a resurgent city

Last week marked the 30th anniversary of the closure of BHP in Newcastle, which got us thinking about our beautiful hometown and how it has changed over the past three decades.

Newcastle, in NSW, is the largest regional economy in Australia, ranking above Tasmania, NT and the ACT in economic output.

The NSW Department of Planning says the area has an estimated 322,000 jobs which is projected to increase to 384,000 by 2036.

The economy is increasingly diversified, with a record level of construction taking place in the CBD, the addition of light rail and the ongoing growth of Newcastle Airport, and continual development by the University of Newcastle.

The city is a force to be reckoned with, and we’re in a better position than ever to continue taking on the beast that is Newcastle. Out of the Square Media recently produced a great clip that highlights the region’s economic output.

We have provided specialised recruitment services to the Newcastle and Hunter region since 2007.

We have worked side-by-side for 18 years navigating challenging markets including the GFC, multiple mining downturns, and the return of the single shingle recruiter - the standout challenges for agency owners being competitive salary structures that reward Consultants for professional recruitment behaviours and results, and recruitment technology platforms.

We understand the role of recruiters to be delivering fast, tangible results for clients and candidates, and continual improvement and innovation is the best way to consistently deliver on that promise.

It is important that as recruitment leaders, we also look for ways to value-add for our clients and that means sharing knowledge of industry trends and encouraging constant upskilling across the business.

In many ways, recruiters are the original influencers. We’re advisers, we know about the market, the salary bands, trends in sourcing, and how to tap into passive markets.

Peoplefusion’s recruiters also understand that there is always room for improvement, no matter how long you have been in business. That means being focused on ensuring we are consistently achieving our client’s business goals and always evolving.
