ep.education’s award win recognition of pursuit of excellence

ep.education Managing Director, Stu Birch, says the company’s win in the Excellence in Candidate Care category of the 2020 RCSA NZ Industry Awards was recognition of his team’s ongoing pursuit of excellence. It was the second time in three years that the agency has taken out the category.

At ep.education, we pride ourselves on how we care for our candidates. Our mission is to create excellence in education by bringing people together: we want to support New Zealand schools and centres to have the best educators and to support those educators to be even better through our care processes.

Our commitment paid off and we were able to take home the RCSA NZ Excellence in Candidate Care award in 2018 (as Education Personnel). We leapt at the chance to enter again this year, as we are continuously striving to improve our candidate experience.

EP does more than just connect candidates with jobs – we offer the whole package. From the moment a candidate first contacts us, EP is there with them, every step of the way.

Becoming a registered teacher in New Zealand can involve working with up to four different agencies that all have their own processes, and it’s not unusual for us to work with candidates for months before they actively apply for teaching roles.

As we help them navigate these processes, we are building a relationship and really getting to know them. By the time a candidate is ready for interview, EP has a solid understanding of what role would work best for them and supports with every stage of the job finding process.

In addition to fixed-term and permanent placements, EP also works with relief teachers, giving educators the opportunity to gain experience working in different schools and early childhood centres, and to create lasting relationships with our temporary recruitment consultants.

Our Teacher Support team helps educators to find their own jobs, offers CV support and organises professional development workshops – an essential part of remaining a registered teacher – at cost-effective prices for all teachers, not just those actively working with us.

Consultants check in with candidates regularly after being placed and we host drinks for all teachers who have worked with us, in both permanent and temporary roles. During the COVID-19 lockdown, we hosted these events virtually with great success!

The whole EP team is delighted to have won the 2020 RCSA NZ Excellence in Candidate Care Award, as it acknowledges our ongoing teamwork and efforts to better our schools and communities.
