ANRA Council Update

Summary of key discussion items from last Council meeting

The ANRA Council met on 23 February for their first meeting of 2022. The key matters discussed were:

  • ANRA is considering the need for a re-brand to better reflect who ANRA currently represents, given that the membership base is wider than the nursing recruitment sector. ANRA is liaising with the RCSA Board to conduct market research to better understand the membership base and future opportunities.

  • The recent amendments to the SCHADS Award have caused concern, particularly provisions relating to 2 hour shifts and split shifts. These concerns will be explored further by ANRA, and any updates will be provided to members as appropriate.

  • ANRA is working with the RCSA Advocacy team to seek clarification on the identification of severe allegations and pending cases with our clients and government bodies, relating to vulnerable people outside of Aged Care. The Council acknowledges the length of investigations leaves the potential for incidents to occur.
