Awards & Compliance changes

  • On the 15th of June 2021, Fair Work Australia announced its annual wage review advising Australian industry of an of increase of 2.5% to the national minimum wage. This also applies to all award wages with the award increases happening in 3 phases:

o July 1st - Ninety-nine (99) Awards will be affected

o September 1st - One (1) Award will be affected

o November 1st - All remaining twenty-one (21) Awards will be affected.

  • July 1 also brings an increase to the Employer contributed Superannuation guarantee from 9.5% to 10% which is the first incremental increase of a staged approach which will lift the overall superannuation guarantee to 12 % by 2025/26.

All staffing organizations need to ensure this is communicated to their clients and candidates and ensure that their payroll processing systems are aligned to this increase.
