Celebrating International Women’s Day

Happy International Women’s Day!

At RCSA we are proud to join with others in our fabulous community of recruitment and staffing professionals to celebrate the day where the global community comes together to highlight the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias and we are taking the opportunity that the day represents to recognise the incredible contribution that women have made to our industry.

We are particularly proud of the high levels of female leadership within our membership base. In fact, of the 581 Managing Directors and CEOs of our member organisations, 226 of these positions are held by women – that’s almost 40%!

The 2017 report Women in Leadership: Lessons from Australian Companies by McKinsey and Company stated that while Australian companies strive for gender equality, ‘women remain underrepresented at every stage of the career pipeline in Australia’. The report highlighted that women constituted 42% of all employees, making up just a quarter of executives and only 10% of CEOs for large, for-profit companies.

It should be the goal of every organisation around the world to break gender bias and encourage gender equality as a priority.

When there is equality, there is equal opportunity for ideas, growth and collaboration which, in turn, lead to productivity and leadership in the world of work.

As the Chief Executive Women 2022 online report states, ‘diverse voices, clear objectives, and collaboration are key to effective, inclusive change’.

How Female Leaders are Transforming the Workplace

In the spirit of continuing the celebration of our female leaders, we will hold a live webinar panel discussion How Female Leaders are Transforming the Workplace, focussing on what women bring to the Boardroom and the amazing support provided when we empower each other collectively without bias in the workplace.

Join Sally McGrath, Practice Director of Health that Heals, as she moderates a panel including Ross Clennett, recruitment coach, Fellow and Life Member of RCSA Jacqui Barratt and Shazamme Co-Founder Nicole Clarke on Friday, 18th March between 11.00am and 12.00pm AEDT (please check your local time zone if you plan to join the live session).

I want to take this opportunity to thank all our female members for their exceptional and tireless contribution to the recruitment and staffing industry. Thank you for the hard work, ideas and creativity you contribute to improving lives, communities and the economy.
