Third-Party Audits of Medical Locum Agencies
An update, and an introduction to Global-Mark
For continued recognition by NSW State Health Regulators as a Medical Locum Agency, all Agencies must undergo an independent certification audit by a third-party JAS-ANZ-accredited organisation against the standards and conditions set out in the Medical Locum Guidelines.
These audits are required every three years, and the Ministry of Health has recently clarified that Agencies may adopt or develop their own quality management systems based on recognised quality assurance frameworks. While the standards present adoption of ISO 9001 certification as an option, it is NOT mandatory. This removes the requirement for an annual audit, therefore making the audit process more affordable and less onerous for Agencies.
Global-Mark has been delivering third-party audits for Medical Locum Agencies since the release of the revised NSW Health Policy Framework documents in 2018, and is actively auditing over 20 Agencies at this time. Medical Locum Agency audits is just one offering in the G-M health program, which extends to include ISO9001 certification, GP and Health accreditation, RTAC assessments and the soon to be released Primary and Community Healthcare accreditation.
As one of the only remaining Australian-owned certification bodies working in the 10,000+ certificate range, Global-Mark has an absolute focus on the Australian and New Zealand market. The Global-Mark model sees the allocation of a dedicated Client Manager for every client, resulting in an ongoing relationship and consistency from audit to audit.
Global-Mark is also a Registered Training Organisation and offers nationally recognised Training and Exemplar Global qualifications in the field of quality and quality auditing. All current clients receive discounted rates when attending Global-Mark training sessions.
